SAT Strategy Diagnostic Privacy Notice

This notice supplements the TutorsLit Privacy Policy. Effective July 29, 2026.

What the diagnostic records

The diagnostic may record selected or entered responses, initial and final answers, accuracy, confidence ratings, active time, time to first response, confidence-selection time, review and revisit time, answer changes, flags, eliminated choices, limited interaction events, question identifiers, skill and domain labels, summaries, recommendations, and generated reports.

Account and anonymous access

A session is linked to a TutorsLit user ID when the user is logged in. Anonymous sessions use a long random access token saved in the browser; the server stores a hash of that token. Clearing browser storage or switching devices may remove anonymous access to history and reports.

What is sent for AI analysis

The server calculates performance summaries before requesting an AI-generated report. The minimized AI payload excludes the student’s name and email address and does not include complete passages or full answer choices. It includes calculated metrics and limited metadata such as question ID, domain, skill, result, timing category, confidence signal, and strategy tag.

Purpose and limitations

The information is used to create a practice report, identify cautious strategy signals, and recommend TutorsLit labs. It is not used to calculate or predict an official SAT score, diagnose a condition, or make an admission, placement, or disciplinary decision.

Retention and deletion

The current configuration allows a diagnostic access token to remain valid for 30 days and schedules the session, responses, summary, and report for deletion after 90 days. A protected scheduled cleanup task must run for scheduled deletion to occur. The diagnostic history interface also includes a control to delete a session and its associated data.

School and younger-student use

Schools are responsible for providing required notices and obtaining any required consent. Do not direct a child under 13 to submit diagnostic information unless TutorsLit has approved the deployment and the school or parent has completed the required authorization process.
